Due to capacity limitations during the modernization of the infrastructure by JSC 'NC' KTZh on the Dostyk – Moyinty section since 2023, the use of open-top wagons in the company’s container service has been successfully tested and implemented on the main routes between China-Russia and China-Belarus, with container transshipment at the Sorokovaya station.
In addition to the terminal at Sorokovaya station, a second terminal at Nur-Sultan-1 station has been regularly utilized for transshipment of container trains since June 2024.
