Export of goods and cargos to China by UTLC ERA

UTLC ERA provides delivery services for container cargos west-to-east — from industrial centers of Europe, Russia and Belarus to Central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan — up to the Chinese border — via the ‘broad’ 1,520 mm gauge.

Accelerated container trains are composed in Brest (the Republic of Belarus), in Moscow and the Moscow Region (Russia) based on the cargo destination regions for their consequent delivery to Central Asia or China.

Transportation from Kazakhstan to China within accelerated container trains
is offered as an additional service.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does UTLC ERA provide containers?

No, we do not provide containers for loading. For the export of containerized cargo to China and other international transportation, the customer's own packaging is used, which complies with technical and customs requirements.

  • Does UTLC ERA deliver cargo in covered wagons or open-top wagons?

No, we only accept containers for shipment. We manage approximately 9,500 modern fitting platforms adapted for various types of containers. This allows for fast railway export transportation to China with optimal use of infrastructure.

  • Does UTLC ERA handle cargo insurance?

No, cargo insurance is handled by the shipper or the cargo owner. Nevertheless, regardless of weather conditions and other factors, the cargo integrity rate in our services reaches 99.997%. This indicator is particularly valuable for clients exporting goods to China by rail.

  • Does UTLC ERA provide GU-12 form processing services?

No, the completion and submission of the GU-12 form application is handled by the shipper.

  • How far in advance should the telegram for coordinating the container train departure in the following month be submitted?

The earlier, the higher the likelihood of approval. For transit and export shipments to China, it is recommended to submit telegrams by the 15th of the month preceding the shipment; for the additional plan - by the 25th. This helps in planning the delivery schedule for export container trains to China in advance and coordinating logistics operations. According to the rules, the carrier is obliged to review the application within two days and either approve or reject it.

  • Is it possible to make changes to the SMGS at the MGSP Dostyk/Altynkol, as well as after departure from it?

Yes, adjustments are possible both at the departure stage and after - at the destination station, via a telegram from the consignor or consignee. Everything is processed in accordance with Article 25 of the SMGS "Amendment of the contract of carriage". This procedure is also applied when processing export transportation under the SMGS for goods destined for China and other countries.

  • Why was the container train split up?

Splitting is a technological operation that involves combining several trains at the departure station into one long-haul train (over 100 conventional wagons). This approach enhances the efficiency of exporting containerized cargo to China and allows for more containers to be shipped simultaneously.

  • How many containers must a train have to be considered a container train?

A train is considered a container train if it consists of wagons carrying loaded or empty containers, with a minimum length of 57 conventional wagons—equivalent to 31 eighty-foot fitting platforms. This standard is used for route planning and capacity calculation in railway logistics for export cargo to China.
