2024
On 13–18 August 2024, Moscow hosted the 6th International Football Tournament UTLC CUP 2024.
This season saw the debut of young athletes from the “Spartak” academy and footballers from Serbia’s “Partizan”.
Teams from a total of five countries played in the international tournament – Russia (“Lokomotiv”, “CSKA”, “Spartak”), Serbia (“Crvena Zvezda”, “Partizan”), Turkey (“Fatih Karagümrük”), Belarus (“Dinamo Minsk”) and Kazakhstan (“Astana”).
“The young yet determined athletes, true professionals of the sport, played bold, beautiful football to the delight
of dazzled spectators!” remarked Alexey Grom, General Director of UTLC ERA JSC.
In the final, “Lokomotiv” outplayed Serbia’s “Crvena Zvezda” – defending champions over the past two years – with
a final score of 3:1, with the Serbian visitors taking home the silver. The bronze went to “CSKA”, who beat “Dinamo Minsk” in the match for third place with a score of 1:0.
2024
On April 16–21, the International Youth Tournament UTLC ICE CUP gathered the best young hockey players of the Eurasian continent on the ice of the Barys Arena for the fourth time under the banner “Young Eurasian Stars.”
At the tournament, home team Barys faced visitors Dynamo from Minsk, Saint Petersburg’s Army SKA, Lokomotiv from Yaroslavl, Tashkent’s Humo and Beijing GLC, all comprised of 14-and-under (Bantam) players.
Over the tournament’s entire history, Yaroslavl’s Lokomotiv has won the trophy twice, with CSKA claiming the UTLC ICE CUP once. That tradition continued this year, with a final tournament matchup between Lokomotiv from Yaroslavl and Saint Petersburg’s Army SKA.
Reigning champion Lokomotiv got off to a dominant start in the first period, getting three pucks past their opponents. The goals were scored by Andrei Rozhkov and Anton Malinovsky, who scored twice. By the 12th second of the second period, Semyon Gerasimov had extended Yaroslavl’s lead with a goal that seemed to break the spirit of Army SKA, who never managed to get back into the game after that. With 16 seconds to go until the second intermission, Filipp Vychugzhanin scored what would turn out to be the tournament’s last goal, as spectators missed out on seeing any more in the third and final period.
And so it was that Lokomotiv, for the third time in its history, became UTLC ICE CUP champion, with Army SKA taking home the silver medal.
Final standings of the UTLC ICE CUP 2024:
1. Lokomotiv (Yaroslavl, Russia)
2. Army SKA (Saint Petersburg, Russia)
3. Barys (Astana, Kazakhstan)
4. Dynamo (Minsk, Republic of Belarus)
