UTLС ERA counts on multimodal transportations through Kaliningrad

UTLC ERA confirmed the intention to develop Kaliningrad as a key link in the corridor China-Europe-China with containers transshipment at the stations Dzerzhinskaya-Novaya and Chernyakhovsk, the Kaliningrad Railway. JSC UTLC ERA, Kaliningrad Railroad and Association of Exporters AEKS signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the arrangement of rail container transportations on September 5, 2018. The document was signed within the framework of the Eurasian Transit Forum held in Kaliningrad on September 5 and September 6, 2018.

"Memorandum on cooperation on the arrangement of rail container transportations through Kaliningrad is a continuation of the work on launching a new direction of transportation. Regularly transit trains run through the terminals of Kaliningrad on the route China-Europe-China, – says Alexey Grom, the president of UTLC ERA. – Now the universal transport and logistics center Kaliningrad is operating at Dzerzhinskaya-Novaya station, where we receive and ship two container trains a week."

Within the framework of the system development of the multimodal transit carriages, Joint-stock company United Transport and Logistics Company Eurasian Rail Alliance (UTLC ERA) and Kaliningrad Railway signed Memorandums on strategic cooperation with the ports of the Kaliningrad Region in February 2018. UTLC ERA opened a new railway transit route between China and Europe in the third quarter of 2017, passing through the transshipment terminals of the Kaliningrad Railway (Chernyakhovsk and Dzerzhinskaya-Novaya stations). Pilot dispatch of the container train on this route was carried out on September 23, 2017, and in December 2017 additional test trains proceeded.

On the Eurasian Transit Forum the issues of the development of rail transit of goods were discussed between China and Europe through the Kaliningrad railway. 150 representatives of railway companies, maritime travel suppliers, stevedores, port terminals from Russia, China and Europe took part in the event.
